Samples are retained for sixty (60) days after the date of the microscopic examination. Samples may be returned during this period, with a written request. A return charge will include applicable courier shipping charges. Samples may also be put into long-term storage at our location, for a storage fee. After the sixty day period, unless we have been notified, the sample may be destroyed. Long-Term Storage: We maintain long term frozen storage to simplify sample custody for our clients. This is particularly valuable for samples that may become legal evidence. Our current rental fee is $250.00 per shelf per year. The approximate dimensions of one shelf are 24x18x10". More shelves may be added as needed. This is a very inexpensive way to insure safe storage of important samples. If you set up a storage account at our facility, you will be invoiced on a pro-rated basis for the remainder of the calendar year. Invoices for renewing shelf space will be sent at the beginning of each year for the coming year. You will be notified once per year of all of the samples that are being stored on your shelf. You may request samples be returned or destroyed at any time, but all instructions to return or destroy samples must be in writing from an authorized representative of your company. You must request a long term storage account during the sixty (60) day period, to secure your sample. The ultimate responsibility for your sample is yours. If you would like a list of your samples being held in short term storage, please request it by FAX or by e-mail at your earliest convenience. You will need to notify us as soon as possible if you would like to have any of these samples returned or placed into long-term storage. If you are not sure if your company already has a long-term storage account, please send us an e-mail or send a fax to (785) 537-1800 and we will let you know. Please contact us to set up a long-term storage account. Please also let us know if we may assist you in other ways. We may be reached by telephone at (785) 537-9773 or by fax at (785) 537-1800.
